Getting Stronger

Hey ya everyone, how are you? Gabe has been really happy dandy. And very naughty. Those 3am wake up n play activities are still ongoing. I give up trying to figure out how to stop it...sometimes just go with the flow...sigh.

Development wise, he's now sitting up alot, mostly with his hands supporting. But now he can sit for much longer and with 1 hand support too. Unsupported sitting is good too, just not that long. But i think it's gonna be soon coz now everytime he rolls here n there, it ends up into a sitting position. So that's how i know each day he's getting stronger and soon, he'll be able to sit really long by himself...well done Gabe. I think this has got to do alot with the Gymboree classes we've been going to each week and the exercise i make him do at home whenever i am free. Just putting him into sitting position in front of me, his back to my front. The get him to play with toys, then i slowly move away abit so he sits unsupported. And mostly nowadays we put him sitting first instead of lying down, then it's up to him what he chooses...

Speaking of Gymboree, i think this is one of the best choices we made for him so far. His legs have gotten so much stronger and previously, when u hold him up with his feet on the floor, it's always on tippy-toes. His feet were never flat on the floor. Then his teacher taught me how to use this medium-sized blow-up balloon roller. I put Gabe tummy down on it, with his feet dangling. The i hold him under his arms and roll him front n back. So each time we roll back, his feet will touch the ground, and he uses it to push off, plus it gives him the chance to put his feet flat...and it really is working. I can see the improvement already. So hopefully he'll be able to stand soon.

Feeding wise, it's still torture for me. But there's only so much i can do. So, i decided to buy "ikura" (fish eggs), very nutritious..and since he eats such small amounts of solids, i thought it may as well be packed to the max...plus it's fatty too. And he loves avocados...that's probably about the only thing with cereal that he finishes..the rest, he'll spit out or refuse after few spoons..Tofu too he's ok. So i think we'll just stick to these few until he can eat much more.

So yeah...it's still tough. And i'm still stressed. But what more can i do? If you have any great advise, yes, please do share....

Here are some pics, enjoy

The 3 of us..

1st time sitting in trolley...maybe that's why the expression???

Listening to something Daddy saying..

Telling Daddy he wants to get up..

Gymboree time...sitting in a boat

Just being a cutie pie

Ikura....yummy yummy, fatty fatty

His fave yogurt..strawberry...gave him the fruit n veggie one, he spit it out..terrible boy. Also to fatten up, this is strategy #2. After lunch i stuff him with 1 of these...

And the boy is smart...he loves his snacks as in like really love. It's the fruit puffs...everytime we go out i make sure i have those. The other day we went to church and for 1.5hrs, he was good..coz i kept stuffing his mouth with the puffs until there was none. In restaurants if you give him this you could probably buy like 15-20mins i think of good behavior. And you should see him chew the puffs and JApanese rice crackers..the boy's a pro...but when it comes to porridge and soft carrots in tiny bits, he refuses to chew n spits the bits out...even tiny itsy meat pieces, he just refuses to chew...i'm in trouble, serious trouble..

Well, so that's that...see what i have to deal with...i found a few more white hairs recently. Not surprising.

P/S: Tuesday we're visiting a special kids school. Will tell you all about out current headache in searching for daycares n nusrseries for Gabe...till then tata...
