It was honestly a big step for them both. Lucas has slept with me since he was a baby. I thought it was going to be extremely tough with loads of tears. But i think i made the right decision to wait till now when he can understand what I`m trying to ell him and he a better understanding. If i had done this a year back at the insistence of the dad, I`d have failed.
I talked to him prior to the move, everyday telling him he was a big boy and such a good boy. And that korkor was his brother and they needed to sleep together. I said Mummy still loves you very very much and if you need anything Mummy is in next room.
On the night i did the sleep training, he had tears of course, and when i put him in the bed, he cried and i had to go in a few times. But after that, it was pretty much easy. He still wakes up everynight due to nightmares or a stuffed nose, but no major issues. Gabe on the other hand was a terror. He woke up aking for his Dad and kept coming down from his bed probably wanting to open the door. But now after a week, i am proud to say that yup, we`ve done it!!!
To get them to like the room, i put up Thomas & Percy posters on each side of their beds. They were thrilled with it.
And now....everyone is HAPPY
